The conductivity of current through nickel is much greater than that of steel. Lithium-ion cells are made in various sizes, often assembled into packs (commonly referred to as battery packs) for portable equipment. Many battery packs also include an internal protection circuit to prevent over-discharge and short-circuit damage. This can increase their physical length of the Lithium-ion battery pack. For example, an 18650 is around 65 mm (2.6 in) in length, but can be up to 68 mm (2.7 in) long if an internal protection circuit is added. To recharge these cells in a safe and economic fashion, the use of a charger specified for these cells is required. 1. Commercially pure wrought Nickel with good mechanical properties over a wide range of temperature and excellent resistance to many corrosives, in particular hydroxides.
2. Good resistance to corrosion in acids and alkalis and is most useful under reducing conditions.
Outstanding resistance to caustic alkalis up to and including the molten state. In acid, alkaline and neutral salt solutions the material shows good resistance, but in oxidizing salt solutions severe attack will occur.
3. Resistant to all dry gases at room temperature and in dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride may be used in temperatures up to 550C. Resistance to mineral acids varies according to temperature and concentration and whether the solution is aerated or not. Corrosion resistance is better in de-aerated acid.
